Will a solar flashlight work in the dark?

This question is asked quite often, and logically, you'd think not - as solar powered devices get their energy from the sun, how can they work at night where there is none? Its quite simple really - the solar flashlight stores the suns energy in its own internal battery.
That means that when you turn it out it is able to light iteself by using the energy from the battery instead. Neat huh?
Of course, you would need to make sure the flashlight has access to the sun and not locked away in a cupboard or it will be useless.
